Product Description

The Lee Value 4 Hole Turret Press Kit provides a versatile reloading setup for handgun cartridges and selected rifle-loading applications. It combines the Lee 4 Hole Turret Press with an Auto-Index system, powder measure, Safety Scale and essential case-preparation tools.

The four-hole turret lets reloaders keep multiple dies installed and adjusted. In addition, the Auto-Index system automatically advances the turret between operations. As a result, the press can streamline the loading process while keeping the die sequence organised.

The Auto-Index system can also be disengaged. Therefore, reloaders can rotate the turret manually when a particular cartridge or loading process requires more control.

Lee Value 4 Hole Turret Press

The Lee Value 4 Hole Turret Press uses steel and cast-aluminium construction with a 3-1/2-inch ram stroke. Furthermore, the press accepts standard 7/8″-14 reloading dies, which allows the use of Lee dies and compatible dies from other manufacturers.

The four-hole turret provides four die positions for a complete loading sequence. In addition, reloaders can install another turret for a different calibre and keep the dies adjusted between loading sessions.

When changing calibres, the user can replace the complete turret instead of removing each die individually. As a result, the system can reduce setup time when loading multiple cartridges.

The press also directs spent primers into a collection system. Therefore, spent primers stay away from the main working area during normal operation.

Lee Value 4 Hole Turret Kit Auto-Index System

The Auto-Index system provides one of the main advantages of the Lee Value Turret Press. As the ram cycles, the system advances the turret to the next die position.

For handgun loading, the four stations can accommodate sizing, priming, powder charging and bullet seating or crimping operations. In addition, the automatic indexing reduces the need to rotate the turret manually after each operation.

However, reloaders can disengage the Auto-Index mechanism when required. Therefore, the press can operate in a more controlled manual mode for rifle cartridges and other applications.

Lee states that experienced users can achieve more than 200 rounds per hour with suitable handgun-loading setups. Actual loading speed depends on the cartridge, dies, components and operator.

Lee Value 4 Hole Turret Powder Measure and Scale

The kit includes a Lee powder measure and Lee Safety Scale for powder charging and charge-weight verification. Together, these tools provide the basic equipment needed to measure powder during the reloading process.

The powder measure provides a repeatable way to dispense charges. Meanwhile, the Safety Scale gives the reloader a separate method for checking charge weight.

As a result, reloaders can use the powder measure for dispensing while using the scale to verify the selected charge. Always use current load data for the specific cartridge, bullet and powder combination.

Lee Value 4 Hole Turret Case Preparation

The kit also includes several tools for basic case preparation. These include a primer pocket cleaner, cutter and lock stud, and chamfer tool.

The cutter and lock stud provide a basic method for trimming cartridge cases. In addition, the chamfer tool removes burrs from the inside and outside of the case mouth after trimming.

The primer pocket cleaner removes residue from the primer pocket. Therefore, the supplied tools cover several common case-preparation tasks without requiring a separate tool for every operation.

For rifle cartridges, however, reloaders need a cartridge-specific case-length gauge when using the Lee case-trimming system. As a result, the supplied case-preparation tools do not replace every cartridge-specific accessory.

Lee Value 4 Hole Turret Press Kit for Rifle Reloading

The Lee Value 4 Hole Turret Press Kit can also handle rifle reloading, although the Auto-Index system has cartridge-length limitations. Lee specifies a maximum cartridge length of 2.3125 inches for automatic indexing.

For longer cartridges, the reloader can disengage the Auto-Index system and rotate the turret manually. Therefore, the press can accommodate longer rifle cartridges when the user operates the turret manually.

Rifle reloaders also need suitable rifle dies and cartridge-specific case-preparation equipment. In addition, the powder-charging setup must match the cartridge and loading method.

The press accepts standard 7/8″-14 dies. Furthermore, additional four-hole turrets allow reloaders to keep separate die sets assembled and adjusted for different calibres.

The Lee Bench Plate shown in some product photographs is a separate accessory. Therefore, it does not form part of the standard 90928 kit.
