Product Description

The Delta Javelin 4.5-30×56 SMR1 MRAD FFP is a first focal plane riflescope designed for long-range shooting, PRS competition and hunting. It combines 4.5–30x magnification with a 56mm objective lens, ED glass and a 34mm main tube.

The 4.5–30x magnification range provides flexibility across different shooting distances. At lower magnification, the wider field of view helps with target acquisition. At higher magnification, the 30x setting provides greater target detail for precision shooting. As a result, the Javelin suits both field and competition applications.

In addition, the scope uses ED optical glass to provide high resolution and clear image detail. The 56mm objective lens also supports the optical system at higher magnification and in changing light conditions.

Furthermore, the robust 34mm main tube provides space for a substantial elevation and windage adjustment range. The scope provides 32 MRAD of elevation and 32 MRAD of windage adjustment. Therefore, it offers a wide adjustment range for long-range shooting.

The first focal plane design keeps the SMR-1 reticle’s MRAD subtensions consistent throughout the magnification range. As a result, the shooter can use the reticle’s holdover and measurement references at different magnification settings.

The scope also uses large lockable adjustment turrets. In addition, the turrets show markings for successive revolutions, making it easier to keep track of the current adjustment position.

Delta Javelin SMR-1 MRAD FFP Reticle

The SMR-1 reticle is one of the key features of the Delta Javelin. It uses a tactical Christmas-tree design developed for long-range and PRS-style shooting. At the same time, the open upper section keeps the central aiming area relatively clear.

The reticle features a floating centre dot with illumination. In addition, it uses 0.2 MRAD markers for elevation and windage references.

Furthermore, the reticle incorporates a free-floating vertical and horizontal ruler with 0.1 MRAD markings. This feature provides a direct reference for measuring targets through the scope. Therefore, the reticle can assist with target measurement as well as holdover and windage corrections.

The Christmas-tree section uses 0.2 MRAD markers for holdover, windage and target measurement. Moreover, the MRAD numbers sit 1.2 MRAD to the right of the centre. As a result, the shooter can identify the holdover references without placing additional markings directly over the most important part of the target.

Because the reticle sits in the first focal plane, its subtensions maintain the same relationship with the target throughout the 4.5–30x magnification range. Therefore, the SMR-1 provides consistent MRAD references for long-range shooting.

The illuminated centre also makes the reticle useful in lower light. Consequently, the same scope can suit both precision competition shooting and hunting applications.

MRAD Turrets and Zero Stop

The elevation and windage turrets use 0.1 MRAD clicks. In addition, each complete turret revolution provides 10 MRAD of adjustment.

The scope provides 32 MRAD of elevation adjustment and 32 MRAD of windage adjustment. Furthermore, the turrets include markings for successive revolutions. Therefore, the shooter can keep track of the turret position when making larger elevation corrections.

Both adjustment turrets are lockable. As a result, the locking system helps prevent accidental changes after the required elevation or windage setting has been established.

The elevation turret also features a Zero-Stop system. Therefore, after establishing the rifle’s zero, the shooter can return the elevation turret to the established reference point when changing between different shooting distances.

The scope uses a 34mm main tube and a robust aluminium construction. In addition, it uses nitrogen filling and a sealed design to provide protection against changing outdoor conditions.

The side-focus parallax adjustment operates from 25 metres to infinity. Therefore, the shooter can adjust parallax for both relatively close targets and extended-range shooting.

The Javelin provides approximately 100mm of eye relief. Furthermore, the field of view ranges from 8.2 metres at 4.5x to 1.3 metres at 30x at 100 metres. As a result, the scope provides a wider view at lower magnification while delivering greater target detail at higher magnification.

At approximately 388mm long and 1,036g, the Javelin is a substantial precision riflescope. Therefore, the rifle, mounting system and intended shooting application should all be considered when setting up the optic.

Delta Javelin for Long-Range and PRS Shooting

The Delta Javelin 4.5-30×56 SMR1 MRAD FFP is suited to long-range target shooting, PRS-style competition and hunting. In addition, the wide magnification range provides flexibility between closer targets and extended shooting distances.

The SMR-1 reticle is particularly useful for shooters who prefer to hold corrections rather than dial every adjustment. Furthermore, the integrated 0.1 MRAD ruler provides a useful target measurement reference, while the Christmas-tree section provides additional elevation and windage hold points.

The large lockable turrets complement the reticle by providing precise 0.1 MRAD adjustments when dialing is preferred. Meanwhile, the 10 MRAD-per-revolution design and revolution markings make larger elevation corrections easier to track.

The Zero-Stop adds another practical feature for long-range use. As a result, the shooter can return to the established elevation zero after making corrections for different distances.

When mounting the scope, use compatible 34mm scope rings or a suitable 34mm scope mount. Also, check the required ring height and mounting position before installation.
