Lee Auto Bench Prime

The Lee Auto Bench Prime is a bench-mounted priming tool for seating primers into cartridge cases during reloading. Its lever-operated design provides mechanical advantage while giving the user a clear feel as the primer enters the primer pocket.

The symmetrical design allows either right- or left-hand operation. In addition, the mounting holes allow the tool to attach directly to a workbench or to the Lee Bench Plate system. Lee lists the tool as SKU 90700 and GTIN 734307907006.

Lee Auto Bench Prime Features

The tool includes separate priming assemblies for small and large primers. Their clear construction allows the user to monitor primer movement from the tray towards the primer pocket.

The folding primer tray includes a built-in flipping feature that helps orient primers during tray loading. Furthermore, the tray allows direct filling from suitable large primer boxes.

The tool uses dedicated Lee priming-tool shell holders. These differ from standard press shell holders, so reloaders should select the correct holder for the cartridge being primed.

The bench-mounted design provides a stable position for priming cases away from the reloading press. Consequently, reloaders can complete priming as a separate case-preparation stage.

The lever provides mechanical advantage while retaining useful seating feel. Therefore, the user can identify when the primer reaches the bottom of the primer pocket without relying solely on visual inspection.

The mounting holes suit the Lee Bench Plate system or direct attachment to a workbench. The tool can therefore form part of either a fixed or removable bench setup.

Lee specifically warns that Federal brand large primers can cause the entire primer tray to explode with sufficient force to cause serious and painful injuries. Lee recommends feeding these primers individually using the single-primer option. Always follow the manufacturer’s current safety instructions when handling live primers.
