MDT Field Stock – Howa SA RH ODG

The MDT Field Stock Howa SA provides a practical upgrade for the Howa 1500 Short Action right-hand rifle. It combines a traditionally shaped overmoulded polymer stock with a rigid 6061 aluminium core and V-block bedding. As a result, the Field Stock provides a stable platform while retaining the familiar feel of a traditional rifle stock.

The ODG version fits the Howa 1500 Short Action in a right-hand configuration. In addition, it also fits the Weatherby Vanguard Short Action.

Furthermore, the adjustable cheek riser helps position your head consistently behind the scope. You can also adjust the length of pull from 13.5″ to 14.5″ using the supplied 1/4″ spacers.

Howa 1500 Short Action Stock

The integrated aluminium core incorporates V-block bedding to provide a solid connection between the rifle action and stock. At the same time, the free-floating barrel design helps prevent the stock from contacting the barrel along its length.

The traditionally shaped polymer body provides a familiar stock profile and remains comfortable to handle in changing temperatures. In addition, the M-LOK forend provides mounting points for compatible accessories such as a bipod or other shooting equipment.

The Field Stock also includes sling studs at both ends. Therefore, you can configure the stock for hunting, range use or general-purpose shooting without relying on a highly tactical stock design.

AICS Magazine Compatibility

The Field Stock accepts AICS-pattern magazines, so the Howa 1500 Short Action gains a practical detachable magazine system. As a result, shooters can use compatible AICS magazines rather than relying on the rifle’s original magazine configuration.

The magazine system also uses an ambidextrous magazine latch. However, the magazine itself is not included with the stock, so you should select the correct AICS-compatible magazine separately.

Adjustable Field Stock

The cheek riser provides 1.370″ of height adjustment. In addition, the supplied spacers provide 1″ of length-of-pull adjustment. Consequently, you can adapt the stock to suit different shooting positions and scope setups.

The maximum recommended barrel diameter is 1.250″. Therefore, check your barrel profile before fitting the stock, particularly when using a heavier aftermarket barrel.
