Thor Rem 700 / Howa Stud 2 Piece Base

The Thor Rem 700 / Howa Stud 2 Piece Base provides a two-piece mounting option for compatible Remington 700 and Howa rifles. Its stud-type design uses separate mounting bases rather than one continuous rail. However, you should confirm the receiver pattern before installation.

Thor Rem 700 / Howa Stud 2 Piece Base

A two-piece base places separate mounting sections at the front and rear of the receiver. As a result, the central area remains more open than with many one-piece rails. This arrangement can suit a traditional scope setup when the bases match the rifle’s receiver and mounting holes.

The stud-type interface is an important consideration when choosing scope rings. Unlike a conventional Weaver-style rail, a stud-type base requires rings designed to attach to the corresponding mounting system. Therefore, check ring compatibility before selecting accessories.

The product title identifies Remington 700 and Howa applications. Nevertheless, the exact rifle model and receiver configuration still matter. Do not assume that a base fits every rifle from either manufacturer simply because the brand is listed. For comparison, this Lynx two-piece stud-base listing describes a similar mounting arrangement for Remington 700 and Howa 1500 rifles; however, it is a different brand and does not confirm the dimensions of this Thor base.

Before installation, check the receiver’s mounting holes, screw specifications and base alignment. Also, confirm that the screws engage correctly without interfering with the action. In addition, choose rings that match both the stud interface and the scope tube diameter.

Correct scope positioning matters too. Consequently, check eye relief, objective clearance and bolt operation with the optic fitted. Finally, follow the manufacturer’s installation and tightening instructions, and consult a qualified gunsmith if the mounting pattern or screw fitment is uncertain.
