Product Description

The Arken EP5 7-35×56 Gen2 VPR FFP Mil iR is a first focal plane riflescope designed for long-range shooting, precision competition and hunting. It combines a 7–35x magnification range with a 56mm objective lens and Japanese ED glass.

At 7x, the scope provides a wider field of view for target acquisition and closer shooting distances. At higher magnification, the 35x setting provides greater target detail for extended-range shooting. As a result, the EP5 Gen2 offers a wide magnification range for demanding precision applications.

In addition, the scope uses Japanese ED glass to provide high-resolution images and improved colour contrast. The 56mm objective lens also supports a detailed sight picture at higher magnification.

Furthermore, the 34mm main tube provides space for the scope’s adjustment system and internal optical components. The turrets use 0.1 MRAD clicks. Therefore, the shooter can make precise elevation and windage corrections when dialing for distance.

The first focal plane design keeps the VPR reticle’s subtensions proportional to the target throughout the magnification range. Because of this, the reticle can provide consistent holdover references from 7x through to 35x.

The VPR MIL reticle is a Variable Precision Reticle designed for long-range shooting and practical holdover corrections. In addition, its Christmas-tree-style layout provides elevation and windage references below the centre aiming point.

The MIL version uses approximately 0.5 MIL holdover spacing for practical elevation and windage corrections. Furthermore, the reticle includes a fine floating centre dot that provides a precise aiming reference while limiting target obstruction.

Because the reticle sits in the first focal plane, its subtensions change with magnification while maintaining their relationship with the target. Therefore, the same holdover references remain usable across the full 7–35x range.

MRAD Turrets and Zero Stop

The elevation and windage turrets use a 0.1 MRAD click value. In addition, the Arken Zero Stop (AZS) system provides a mechanical reference for returning the elevation turret to the established zero.

The South African Gen2 specification lists 32 MRAD of elevation adjustment and 16 MRAD of windage adjustment. Furthermore, each turret provides 10 MRAD of adjustment per revolution. Therefore, the system provides substantial adjustment capacity for long-range shooting.

The side-focus parallax adjustment extends from 25 yards to infinity. As a result, the shooter can set the optic for both shorter-range setup and extended-distance shooting.

The scope uses a 34mm main tube and a robust aluminium housing. In addition, the Japanese ED optical system is designed to provide the clarity needed for high-magnification shooting.

Furthermore, the scope has 3.5 inches of eye relief and a field of view of 16.66–3.34 feet at 100 yards. Therefore, the optic provides a balance between target detail at high magnification and a wider view at lower settings.

At approximately 16 inches long and 42 ounces in weight, the EP5 Gen2 is a substantial precision optic. For this reason, the rifle, mounting system and intended shooting application should all be considered when selecting the scope.
