Product Description

The Arken EPL4 6-24×50 VHR FFP Mil iR is a first focal plane riflescope designed for hunting, long-range shooting and general precision applications. It combines 6–24x magnification with a 50mm objective lens and a 30mm main tube.

At 6x, the wider field of view helps with target acquisition at shorter distances. At higher magnification, the 24x setting provides greater target detail for longer-range shooting. As a result, the EPL4 offers a practical magnification range for both hunting and precision shooting.

In addition, the scope uses Japanese ELD glass to provide high-resolution images and improved optical clarity. The 50mm objective lens also supports a detailed sight picture throughout the magnification range.

Furthermore, the 30mm main tube provides a compact platform while keeping the overall weight lower than many larger precision scopes. The turrets use 0.1 MRAD clicks. Therefore, the shooter can make precise elevation and windage corrections when setting up the rifle.

The first focal plane design keeps the VHR reticle’s subtensions proportional to the target as magnification changes. Because of this, the reticle remains useful for holdovers and ranging throughout the 6–24x magnification range.

The VHR MIL reticle is a Variable Hunter Reticle designed for hunting and practical long-range shooting. In addition, the reticle provides a clear central aiming area with additional references for elevation and windage corrections.

The VHR design places emphasis on a clean sight picture and rapid target acquisition. Furthermore, its holdover references provide useful aiming points when the shooter needs to compensate for bullet drop without making a turret adjustment.

Because the reticle sits in the first focal plane, its subtensions maintain their relationship with the target at different magnification settings. Therefore, the reticle can be used for consistent holdover references from 6x through to 24x.

The reticle also features red illumination. As a result, the centre aiming area can remain easier to identify when lighting conditions become less favourable.

MRAD Turrets and Zero Stop

The elevation and windage turrets use a 0.1 MRAD click value. In addition, the elevation turret incorporates the Arken Zero Stop (AZS) system.

The current manufacturer specification lists 25 MIL of elevation adjustment and 17 MIL of windage adjustment. Furthermore, the elevation turret provides 8 MIL per revolution, while the windage turret provides 6 MIL per revolution. Therefore, the adjustment system provides useful correction range for hunting and long-range shooting.

The side-focus parallax adjustment extends from 10 yards to infinity. As a result, the shooter can set the scope for both shorter-range shooting and extended distances.

The scope uses a streamlined 30mm main tube and Japanese ELD optical glass. In addition, the fast-focus eyepiece and 3.5-inch eye relief provide a practical viewing setup for hunting and range use.

Furthermore, the scope provides a field of view of approximately 18.55 to 4.65 feet at 100 yards. Therefore, the lower magnification setting provides a wider view, while the higher settings provide greater target detail.

At approximately 13.8 inches long and 25 ounces in weight, the EPL4 is designed as a lightweight alternative within the Arken precision range. For this reason, it can suit hunting rifles where optical performance and reduced scope weight are both important.
