Lyman Powder Pal Funnel Pan

The Lyman Powder Pal Funnel Pan is a one-piece combination powder pan and funnel for reloaders using electronic scales. It allows the user to weigh a powder charge and then pour it directly into the cartridge case without changing from a pan to a separate funnel.

The one-piece design combines the functions of a powder pan and funnel. Therefore, the user does not need to place a separate funnel on the case before transferring the charge.

The pan can sit on a compatible electronic scale while the user checks the powder charge. Once the charge reaches the required weight, the user can lift the pan and pour the powder directly into the case.

This design removes one step from the normal charging process. In addition, the direct-pour shape helps reduce handling between weighing and charging the case.

The Powder Pal has a universal design for use with cartridge cases. However, Lyman specifies the product for electronic reloading scales only. Therefore, it should not replace the standard pan supplied for a mechanical beam scale unless the scale manufacturer confirms compatibility.

Using the Product During Reloading

The Powder Pal replaces the standard pan on a compatible electronic scale. The user places the empty pan on the scale, sets the scale to zero, and then adds the required powder charge.

After checking the displayed weight, the user can remove the pan from the scale and pour the charge directly into the prepared cartridge case. As a result, the user avoids the extra step of transferring powder from a conventional pan into a separate funnel.

The design can be particularly useful when checking individual charges during the loading process. Furthermore, the combination of two functions keeps the number of separate tools required at the loading station low.

The Powder Pal does not measure powder weight itself. Instead, the electronic scale determines the charge weight while the pan provides a convenient way to transfer the weighed charge.
