Product Description

The Arken SH-4J Gen2 6-24×50 VPR FFP Mil iR is a first focal plane riflescope designed for precision shooting, long-range applications and hunting. It combines 6–24x magnification with a 50mm objective lens, Japanese ELD glass and a 34mm main tube.

The 6–24x magnification range provides flexibility across different shooting distances. At lower magnification, the wider field of view helps with target acquisition and closer shooting. At higher magnification, the 24x setting provides greater target detail for longer-range shooting. As a result, the SH-4J Gen2 offers a versatile setup for both field and range use.

In addition, the scope uses Japanese ELD glass to provide high-contrast images with reduced chromatic aberration. The 50mm objective lens also supports a detailed sight picture at higher magnification.

Furthermore, the 34mm main tube provides a robust platform for the scope’s adjustment system. The turrets use 0.1 MIL clicks with tactile and audible adjustment feedback. Therefore, shooters can make precise elevation and windage corrections when setting up their rifle or dialing for distance.

The first focal plane design keeps the VPR reticle’s subtensions correctly scaled in relation to the target as magnification changes. Because of this, the reticle remains suitable for holdovers and corrections throughout the 6–24x magnification range.

The VPR MIL reticle provides a structured aiming system for precision and long-range shooting. In addition, its Christmas-tree-style holdover grid provides elevation and windage references below the central aiming point.

The MIL version uses 0.5 MIL holdover spacing. Furthermore, the grid provides multiple reference points for elevation and wind corrections without requiring constant turret adjustments.

Because the reticle is positioned in the first focal plane, its subtensions maintain their relationship with the target throughout the magnification range. Therefore, the same holdover references remain useful from 6x through to 24x.

The reticle also features red illumination. As a result, the central aiming references can remain easier to identify when lighting conditions become less favourable.

MRAD Turrets and Zero Stop

The elevation and windage turrets use a 0.1 MIL click value. In addition, the elevation turret incorporates the Arken Zero Stop (AZS) system.

The scope provides 32 MIL of elevation adjustment and 10 MIL of windage adjustment. Furthermore, the turrets provide 8 MIL of adjustment per revolution. Therefore, the system offers substantial elevation adjustment for long-range shooting while keeping turret movements predictable.

The side-focus parallax adjustment extends from 25 yards to infinity. As a result, the shooter can adjust the scope for both closer shooting distances and extended-range applications.

The scope combines Japanese ELD glass with an aircraft-grade aluminium 34mm main tube. In addition, the nitrogen-purged construction helps protect the internal optical system against moisture and fogging.

Furthermore, the scope provides approximately 3.5 inches of eye relief and a field of view of 20.88–5.22 feet at 100 yards. Therefore, the lower magnification setting provides a wider sight picture, while the higher settings provide greater target detail.

At approximately 14.1 inches long and 36.6 ounces in weight, the SH-4J Gen2 has a substantial precision-optic design. For this reason, the rifle, mounting system and intended application should all be considered when selecting this scope.
