Product Description

The Lynx LX2 5-20×50 SAH is a second focal plane riflescope designed for open-veld hunting, medium to long-range shooting and range use. It combines a 5–20x magnification range with a 50mm objective lens and a 30mm one-piece main tube.

At lower magnification, the wider field of view helps with target acquisition at shorter distances. At higher magnification, the 20x setting provides greater target detail for longer-range shooting. As a result, the LX2 offers a practical magnification range for hunting in open terrain.

In addition, the 50mm objective lens provides a useful balance between light transmission and scope size. The fully multi-coated optical system supports a bright and clear sight picture across the magnification range.

Furthermore, the side-focus parallax adjustment allows the shooter to set the scope for different target distances. The parallax range extends from 25 metres to infinity. Therefore, the scope can be adjusted for both closer hunting distances and longer-range shooting.

The second focal plane design keeps the SA Hunter’s reticle at a consistent size as magnification changes. Because of this, the reticle provides a familiar aiming pattern throughout the 5–20x range.

The SA Hunter’s reticle was designed specifically for South African hunting and sport shooting. In addition, it provides dedicated hold-over and wind-drift references for longer-range shooting.

The reticle uses a central cross with additional aiming references below the centre. These include two range bars and small marker points that provide hold-over references for different distances.

Furthermore, the SA Hunter’s reticle includes wind-drift reference points alongside the range bars. As a result, the shooter can use the reticle to compensate for both bullet drop and crosswind without relying only on turret adjustments.

The reticle is calibrated for specific ammunition velocity ranges and shooting conditions. Therefore, the recommended magnification setting should be used when applying the reticle’s ranging and hold-over references. The magnification can also be adjusted when using ammunition with different ballistic characteristics.

The scope uses 1/4 MOA adjustment controls for elevation and windage. In addition, the hunting configuration features tool-less zero adjustment.

The available adjustment range provides approximately 40 MOA of total elevation and windage travel, depending on the specification used for the model. Therefore, the LX2 provides useful adjustment capacity for medium and long-range shooting.

Furthermore, the side-focus control allows the shooter to reduce parallax error at different distances. This makes the adjustment system practical for both hunting and range applications.

The LX2 uses a 30mm one-piece main tube and a European fast-focus eyepiece. In addition, the fully multi-coated lenses provide 99.7% light transmission per lens surface according to the manufacturer’s specification.

The scope uses nitrogen filling to help prevent internal fogging. Furthermore, it is designed to withstand recoil forces up to 1,000G and operates across a temperature range of approximately -17°C to +71°C. Therefore, the LX2 is suited to demanding hunting conditions.

At 353mm long and approximately 800g, the scope provides a substantial optical system without the size and weight of larger high-magnification precision optics. For this reason, it can suit hunting rifles used in open terrain where magnification and optical clarity are important.

The Lynx LX2 5-20×50 SAH suits open-veld hunting, medium to long-range hunting and moderate-range target shooting. In addition, the 5–20x magnification range allows the shooter to use lower magnification for closer targets and higher magnification when greater target detail is needed.

The SA Hunter’s reticle provides additional hold-over and wind-drift references for longer shots. Meanwhile, the side-focus parallax adjustment allows the optic to be set for the distance of the target.

When mounting the scope, use compatible 30mm scope rings or a suitable 30mm scope mount. Also, check the required ring height and mounting position before installation.
